Three-star ATH Lakeem Rudolph is emerging as one of the most intriguing recruits in the 2020 class in the 757 with the 6'4'' athlete releasing his top 6 this past Sunday including Virginia Tech.
So why did Rudolph include the Hokies in his top 6?
"Because the love that the coaches showed me and the head coach took time out his day to contact me," Rudolph said.
Also included in the top 6 for Rudolph was East Carolina, Temple, Cincinnati, Old Dominion, and Liberty
While the recruiting services have Rudolph listed as a wide receiver, Virginia Tech is recruiting him as a safety though his versatility does provide options down the road depending on how he develops and how this class comes together should he choose Virginia Tech.
Rudolph will be making his second trip to Blacksburg this Saturday as the Hokies host an elite group of 2020 and 2021 targets. Rudolph told us that there isn't anything specific he is looking to see going into his visit though clearly this will be another chance for Virginia Tech to make their case to Rudolph for his commitment.
Looking ahead, Rudolph told us that he currently plans to make his collegiate decisions after taking his official visits with Virginia Tech seemingly in line to receive one of them. Given the schools currently involved and the significant interest Rudolph has shown in the Hokies, Virginia Tech looks like the clear on-paper favorite at the moment though as we've seen in the past, there are plenty of factors that can change a recruitment very quickly.
Virginia Tech is in good shape for Lakeem Rudolph with a great opportunity to impress the talented 757 athlete this weekend in Blacksburg.
