Since Virginia Tech was the first to offer
2021 DE NaQuan Brown in February, the 757 four-star DE has seen his recruitment take off adding loads of offers from Power 5 schools. Additionally, Brown also earned a four-star designation from 247 Sports while also being ranked as the third best 2021 recruit in Virginia.
Now after being excited about receiving a four-star rating, Brown has his eyes set on continuing to improve and develop into the best defensive end in the 2021 class with this rating having an impact on increasing his motivation.
"It has a real big impact. I was very shocked. It shows how hard I work on and off the field to get that, and it makes me want to go even harder to go from being a four-star to trying to be the number 1 defensive end in the nation," Brown said about the impact of receiving a four-star rating from 247 Sports.
Now, Brown has his eyes set on taking some summer visits and starting to trim down his list of schools of interest as his offer list takes its full form. That includes a trip to Virginia Tech sometime in June along with trips to LSU, Ohio State, and "probably" TCU though it wouldn't be surprising to see Brown visit even more schools on his offer list.
Brown also is starting to have several schools stand out including Virginia Tech in part because of the coaching staff and in-state factor.
"They have a great campus, great coaching staff, it’s not far from where I am, and it’s in state," Brown said on why Virginia Tech stands out to him.
While staying close to home will be a factor in his recruitment, Brown also made it clear that he doesn't see it being a significant factor in his future decision at this point.
Naquan Brown still has a long way to go in his recruitment, but Virginia Tech has emerged as a top contender with a great opportunity coming this month to improve their early standing in the recruitment of one of Virginia's most talented 2021 recruits.
