Virginia Tech Football Poised to Host Talented Group of Recruits at 2019 Blacksburg Bash

Virginia Tech is set to host their annual summer Blacksburg Bash this weekend with another strong list of talented 2020, 2021, and 2022 recruits poised to visit the Hokies. Of course, the focus for fans will likely start with 2020 recruits as a trio of top Hokie targets have already confirmed to us that they will be visiting Blacksburg, all at positions that VT currently lacks 2020 commits from. Charlotte DE Stephen Sings has been a top DE target for months with the Hokies positioning themselves well. Sings previously mentioned that he could make an early August commitment, giving VT the potential to make a big closing statement before a potential decision. Three-star OT Parker Clements will be making his second trip of the summer to Blacksburg after previously visiting in early June. Currently, the Hokies are in great position for Clements as he told us that Virginia Tech is "definitely" standing out in his recruitment while also mentioning that he enjoyed visits to East Carolina and Appalachian State. Right now, it's hard not to see the Hokies as the favorites for Clements. After receiving an offer in early June, three-star WR and USF commit Tyree Saunders made his plans to visit Virginia Tech for this weekend's Blacksburg Bash. Since then, Saunders has shown lots of interest in the Hokies on Twitter with Virginia Tech clearly having momentum in their push to flip the talented Floridian. The Hokies also have plenty of talented 2021 and 2022 recruits including four-star OT Wyatt Milum, a consensus top 100 recruit in the 2021 class. Virginia Tech has a major connection to Milum having just signed his teammate and elite 2019 offensive guard recruit Doug Nester. The Hokies also will be hosting Milum for what is at least the fourth time this year, a great sign that the Hokies are a top contender in his recruitment. Four-star DE Kelvin Gilliam who has emerged as one of the Commonwealth's most talented recruits in a loaded in-state 2021 class, confirmed to us previously that he will be visiting Virginia Tech this Saturday. Gilliam would be a big pickup for the Hokies if they could find a way to add him to their class early though there are no indications that Gilliam is close to making a decision or trimming down his recruitment. VT will also be hosting a pair of talented teammates in 2021 three-star DB Javon McIntyre and elite 2022 DE Enai White (update: White appears to be visiting Penn State Saturday, mentioned previously he may visit VT Sunday) while three-star TE Jordan Dingle, who saw his recruitment take off in May and June, also plans to visit the Hokies this weekend. TJ Quinn, a 2021 DB from Georgia who received a VT offer last month, also will be visiting the Hokies this Saturday. 2021 three-star safety Jalen Hoyle has also confirmed to us that he will be visiting Virginia Tech this weekend. The Hokies and Penn State currently stand out for Hoyle with the three-star DB visiting Penn State the day before his visit to Blacksburg. Before then, 2021 three-star ATH Zakee Wheatley is visiting two days earlier on the 25th as we reported last night while 2021 three-star QB Cam'Ron Ransom also tweeted out his plans to visit VT on the 25th. This list should continue to grow and will be updated as we are able to confirm more names or more recruits publicly state their intentions to visit Virginia Tech this weekend.

Thursday Update

2021 three-star ATH Jordan Poole confirmed to us today that he will be visiting Virginia Tech this Saturday. Poole was offered earlier this summer at a Virginia Tech camp with the Hokies among three Power 5 offers currently for him.

Saturday Update

2022 WR Jaleel Skinner tweeted out this morning that he will be visiting Virginia Tech today. Skinner currently only has an offer from South Carolina according to 247 Sports though that offer list seems likely to join. The Hokies also hosted 2021 ATH Prince Kollie who hasn't been offered by Virginia Tech yet. 2022 RB Ramon Brown, one of his class' top in-state talents, visited the Hokies today and appeared to have a very good visit. Brown currently has three offers from Virginia Tech, Maryland, and Wake Forest according to 247 Sports. 2023 QB Raheim Jeter was also on campus and received an offer during his visit to Virginia Tech. The Hokies join an offer list that includes Auburn, South Carolina, Missouri, and Memphis according to 247 Sports.
