Here's a look at the latest Virginia Tech football recruiting notes as the Hokies make the cut for a recent cornerback offer plus an update on a recent offensive line offer and an in-state defensive back to keep an eye on.

3* CB Tyrell Raby

After offering three-star CB Tyrell Raby out of Louisiana recently, Virginia Tech received some good news that they had made his top 10.

The Hokies made the cut for Raby alongside Coastal rivals Miami and Virginia plus Purdue, Arizona, Kansas, UCF, Memphis, Houston, and Louisiana Tech.

Raby has quickly emerged as one of Virginia Tech's top cornerback targets alongside D.J. Harvey and Ryan Barnes (who we'll have more on below). The Hokies have what could be a very valuable connection given that he is related to current Virginia Tech commit and four-star WR Latrell Neville.

Given that connection and VT's presence, it's hard to not consider the Hokies the on-paper favorites in his recruitment though Miami and others definitely are quality challengers. Houston could also be a sleeper to keep an eye as one of the best Group of 5 programs and also being in the eastern part of the neighboring state to Louisiana.

Tyrell Raby is definitely a top cornerback target for the Hokies at this point with VT right in the hunt not long after offering.

3* OL Almarion Crim

The Hokies recently three-star offensive lineman Almarion Crim who told us that he was "shocked" and "happy" when he received the offer during a phone call with offensive line coach Vance Vice. The offer made a notable impact with Crim telling us that the Hokies are "high on my board" due to the "winning program and (OL) coach (Vance) Vice."

Looking ahead, Crim told us that he's looking at releasing a top 8 or 10 on June 1st with the Hokies confirmed to make the cut when he trims down his list due the "coaches and the program."

Crim has good size at 6'3'' and 295 pounds and while Tech told us that the Hokies offered him as an offensive lineman in general, he has a preference for the interior. The tape also shows that while Crim could be a solid tackle, his best future would be on the interior at guard or center.

At this point, Crim seems like one of Virginia Tech's top interior offensive line targets alongside in-state three-star OL Troy Everett. While Crim isn't too highly-rated yet, his tape seems to show the talent to rise in the recruiting rankings especially as the recruiting services evaluate him along the interior more rather than tackle.

CB Elijah McLeod

Elijah McLeod from Monacan High School in the Richmond area told us that he has started to receive some interest from CBs coach Ryan Smith recently who told him that he's "on their radar." McLeod told us that the Hokies are looking at him at the cornerback position as most schools interested in him are.

To date, McLeod has offers from Navy and St Francis (PA) while Wake Forest is also showing interest in the intriguing cornerback from the Richmond area. Both of his offers came last month showing how McLeod's recruitment appears to be gaining steam.

That shouldn't be too surprising as he's listed as having ran a 4.51 40 yard dash on his Twitter profile along with having a productive 2019 season with 3 interceptions, 6 pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles, and 42 total tackles including 1.5 for loss.

Keep an eye on Elijah McLeod as the Hokies continue to look to see if there are any hidden gems that have been overlooked.
