After last week's ACC Kickoff, the ACC was ready to reveal the media's picks for the conference title and the division finishes with Virginia Tech football being picked to finish third in the Coastal. The Hokies received 20 first place votes were picked to finish 3rd behind Virginia and Miami with all 7 Coastal teams receiving at least 1 first place vote. Clemson was the overwhelming pick in the Atlantic and overall receiving all but 3 votes to win the ACC title (Syracuse-2, Virginia-1) and all but 2 votes to win the Atlantic division crown (Syracuse-2). The Hokies may be coming off their worst season in the past 30 years, but VT returns most of their offensive stars along with several defensive starters. Additionally, VT benefits from returning arguably the best QB in the Coastal in Ryan Willis (Virginia's Bryce Perkins also has a strong case). There should be no surprise that VT, UVA, and Miami are in the top 3 as those 3 appear to be the clear frontrunners in a Coastal that looks as weak as ever after them with Pittsburgh replacing a whole lot of talent, Duke losing Daniel Jones, and UNC and Georgia Tech being in the midst of major rebuilds. Here's a full rundown of the ACC media's picks for the conference this fall.
