Virginia Tech Basketball Will Play Washington in Atlantic City

Buzz Williams Miami 1 1
Last year, Virginia Tech blew out Washington in the consolation game of the 2K Classic at Madison Square Garden. In December, they'll face off once again in a venue just south of New York City. https://twitter.com/JonRothstein/status/998971875224178694?s=19 The Hokies and Huskies will play in Atlantic City on December 15th as a part of a quadrupleheader according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports and the FRS Sports Network. The matchup between the Hokies and Washington is currently the headline game though one of the four games is still to be revealed. This game will be the fourth matchup all-time between the two schools with VT having a 2-1 edge. The game pits a VT team likely to be ranked in the preseason top 15 against a Washington program that appears to be on the rise after a surprisingly strong first season under Mike Hopkins that ended with a NIT appearance. This game gives the Hokies another guaranteed major conference opponent in addition to the ACC-Big 10 Challenge and potential opponents in the Charleston Classic. With weak non-conference schedules hurting the Hokies' NCAA Tournament seeding in the past, Hokies fans will be happy to see another quality non-conference opponent on the schedule.
