[Credit: Harley Taylor][/caption]Tahj Capehart was a big get for the Hokies back in August when he was the first big name Virginia recruit to commit to the Hokies after Tyjuan Garbutt decommitted from Virginia Tech over the summer. Throughout the past few months, there were no signs that Capehart would sign anywhere other than Virginia Tech. However, that will not be the case in a surprise turn of events. https://twitter.com/Tahj__/status/826774750445711361 Tahj Capehart announced that he has flipped his commitment from Virginia Tech to Maryland with the Terps having received his National Letter of Intent. Capehart was seen as a versatile player for the Hokies who could've played cornerback or wide receiver, but leaves the Hokies with four guys that are projected to play WR and one who is projected to play CB for the time being. Capehart took a surprise official visit to Maryland this past weekend but despite that visit, expectations were that Capehart was just using an additional official and going to sign today with Virginia Tech. However, UMD WRs coach Chris Beatty and Maryland have done a terrific job in using the visit to launch a significant last-minute push that has led to Capehart flipping from Virginia Tech to Maryland. Virginia Tech had targeted a couple of Maryland commits in Sean Nelson and Kofi Wardlow to try to flip them but instead, Maryland has pulled the surprise in flipping Capehart while the Terps have also been able to keep Nelson with Wardlow going to Notre Dame despite them taking officials to Blacksburg this past weekend.
