Virginia Tech QB commit Quincy Patterson headed out west this past weekend to take part in the Elite 11 Finals to find the best quarterback recruits in all of America. Patterson entered the event under-the-radar as one of the lowest-rated quarterbacks there but after his strong performance, he won't be under-the-radar anymore. https://twitter.com/BR_CFB/status/871743420569714688 https://twitter.com/AndyBitterVT/status/871745491159142401 Quincy Patterson was one of 12 quarterbacks named to the 2018 Elite 11 class, becoming the first VT QB commit to do so since Tyrod Taylor. Patterson was one of three three-star QB recruits to make the cut and all appear to prove that they are underrated by multiple recruiting services. This achievement also means that Patterson will get to participate in the elite The Opening camp at Nike at the end of June. Patterson definitely appears to be a steal for Justin Fuente with ESPN being the only ones that have him as a four-star ranking him 239th in the ESPN 300 while 247 Sports and the 247 Sports Composite have him as a high three-star recruit. However, it wouldn't be surprising to see Patterson's ratings jump after this strong performance with it being likely that Patterson will be a consensus four-star recruit soon. Patterson is definitely one of the faces of this recruiting class alongside Tre Turner with this honor likely to help VT in their pursuit of other top offensive playmakers that they are targeting including four-star WR Daniel George, four-star TE Kyle, four-star RB Mychale Salahuddin, and three-star TE James Mitchell plus others especially that these guys have a chance to play with a top QB recruit in Blacksburg along with getting to be coached by one of America's best offensive minds, Justin Fuente. Congrats to Quincy Patterson on earning this prestigious honor and best of luck to him at The Opening.
