Kennesaw State Transfer James Scott Will Visit Virginia Tech

VT Cheerleaders Clemson 1
When Buzz Williams first arrived in Blacksburg, he brought in two players via transfer: Zach LeDay and Seth Allen. Those two transfers worked out quite well for the Hokies helping transform VT from the worst team in the ACC to helping them develop into a consistent NCAA Tournament team. Since then, the Hokies haven't brought in another transfer, but are showing interest in one of the top transfers this offseason. https://twitter.com/coreyevans_10/status/976078504306597888 Kennesaw State transfer James Scott will take an official visit to Virginia Tech according to Corey Evans of Rivals. Scott will have to sit out next season, but will have two years of eligibility remaining after that. The New Jersey native averaged 17.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.7 steals per game this past season. Scott also shot 41.6% from the field, 34% from three-point range, and 80% from free-throw line. Currently, Scott has received plenty of national interest with an unofficial visit to St John's already planned where his father played college basketball. It's currently not clear where a scholarship will come from for the Hokies if James Scott wanted to come to Virginia Tech. One possible spot where a scholarship could come from is Ty Outlaw if his appeal to receive a sixth year of eligibility fails. However, we have seen some surprise transfers before and if a scholarship opens up, Scott would be one of the best options to fill that spot. What's clear is that the Hokies are keeping their eyes open on the transfer market with Scott being near the top of their board.
