[Credit: Harley Taylor][/caption]The Virginia Tech Hokies have been fairly quiet on the recruiting trail since Zion DeBose became the final signee of Virginia Tech's 2017 recruiting class as the Hokies have been holding steady with three 2018 commits in three-star DB Chamarri Connor, three-star QB DeJuan Ellis, and three-star WR/ATH Bryce Thompson.
After the Hokies hosted their first junior day since National Signing Day this past weekend, the Hokies have gained a commitment from one player who was on campus for the festivities.

Cornerback Nasir Peoples from Warminster, Pennsylvania announced this evening that he has committed to Virginia Tech days after visiting Blacksburg for the Hokies' junior day. Peoples joins Connor as the second defensive back to commit to the Hokies in this class alongside Chamarri Connor.
Virginia Tech was the first to offer Peoples earlier this month with Pittsburgh, Rutgers, and Boston College all offering him since then. Peoples currently does not have a grade from any of the major recruiting sites either, but it definitely seems like he was fairly high up the board among the Hokies' targets at cornerback in a class where VT is likely to take three or four cornerbacks.
Brian Mitchell and Galen Scott both played large roles in the recruitment of Peoples and definitely helped close the deal for the Pennsylvania cornerback, helping the Hokies beat out the in-state threat of Pitt. Now, Peoples has the potential to be a recruiting tool for the Hokies in some of the Rust Belt including at his own school which has high three-star TE Kyle Pitts who has plenty of major offers with Penn State off to a strong start in that recruitment.
The pickup of Peoples is also a great start for a Virginia Tech team that is going to look to bring a large group of cornerbacks this cycle after only getting one guaranteed CB in Bryce Watts last cycle while also having a couple of top cornerbacks who will be gone after this season in Brandon Facyson and Greg Stroman.
Congrats to Nasir Peoples on his commitment to Virginia Tech.
