Virginia Tech's Wrestling busy recruiting weekend to end September is already proving fruitful as the Hokies landed a commitment from 2025 top 60 overall wrestler Ryan Burton.
@HokiesWrestling lands a good one. Class of ‘25 top 10 in his weight class. Was teammates with current Hokie two-sport stud @jamesmullen23. Huge upside here. pic.twitter.com/vsxQlMa8G6

Burton is ranked as the #58 overall wrestler in the 2025 class by FloWrestling including in the top 10 at his weight class. The standout from New York state had plenty of significant interest including from Rutgers, Maryland, Princeton, Bucknell, and more.
Burton was high school teammates with current VT heavyweight Jimmy Mullen which certainly had to help the Hokies here. He wrestled at 165 as a sophomore and is projected to wrestle at either 174 or 184 once he joins the Hokies for the 2025-26 season.
We will have more as this story develops.
