Virginia Tech has lost a few commitments since the dismissal of Brent Pry last month. However, despite not likely having a new coach in place till late November at the very earliest, Virginia Tech's 2026 class did land a commitment today from TE Isaiah Pina.
I Want to thank God for allowing me to continue my football career thank you to @coachQuanSLH @brad_lord @coachRholley and @FootballSlhs helping me in every way. With that being said I am excited to announce my commitment to @HokiesFB @coachbrentdavis #AGTG @tolbert_nance pic.twitter.com/fcWEp0vV0a

Pina, the 6'6'' TE from Florida, is the first scholarship TE commitment for the Hokies since landing Zeke Wimbush in the 2023 class. Pina is one of nine commits for the Hokies at the moment in the 2026 class.
His commitment after he received an offer late in the summer and took a visit early in the season prior to the dismissal of Brent Pry.
He had this to say about why he chose Virginia Tech.
"They've been there since day one, keeping in contact and things like that," Pina said.
It is surprising to see a player commit without knowing who the coaching staff will be, but Virginia Tech has clearly impressed Pina more than enough to earn that. It also helps that the 6'6'' athlete (who only shifted over from basketball within the past couple years), is VT's first scholarship TE commit since 2023 and that VT is his only Power 4 offer currently.
We will have more as this story develops.
