3* DL D'Andre Martin, 3* OT Jakson LaHue Decommit From Virginia Tech

After gaining a commitment from four-star TE Benji Gosnell, Virginia Tech has lost a pair of three-star commits from in-state Life Christian Academy DL D'Andre Martin and Texan OT Jakson LaHue.

LaHue was one of three commits from the state of Texas while Martin was part of a strong in-state defensive line class that still remains very good for Tech with four major in-state commits on board from the Commonwealth.

Martin seems like a guy that Tech will continue to push for given their need at defensive tackle especially and how Martin definitely has the size to play there over DE. Of course, the focus may be staving off South Carolina where he visited after the dismissal of Justin Fuente, and who seems to have all the momentum at the moment.

Brent Pry and his whole announced defensive staff are also all on the road including all in Richmond where they made a stop at Highland Springs to see Rashaud Pernell and almost certainly will make other stops including likely one at Martin's Life Christian Academy. Retaining J.C. Price could also help the Hokies' chances of bringing Martin back into this class.

LaHue is a disappointing loss for Tech though the Hokies still have a strong offensive line class together led by four-star OT Gunner Givens among the five commits. LaHue also appears to be trending towards Mississippi State after taking an official visit there this past weekend.

It will be interesting to see where the Hokies turn as they could target in-state 3* OT Brody Meadows who is currently committed to Virginia, but could be a good flip opportunity with a coaching change happening in Charlottesville. Additionally, Tech doesn't have a lot of older depth for next year's offensive line and could look to JUCO or the transfer portal.
