The Virginia Tech Hokies are back on College GameDay as the featured game for the first time since the 2012 Sugar Bowl special College GameDay edition and for the first time in the regular season since 2009's season opener in Atlanta against Alabama.
With the GameDay excitement building, news broke this week about who would be the guest picker.

Mark Berman of the Roanoke Times reported that NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be the guest picker on Saturday's edition of College GameDay at Bristol Motor Speedway. Earnhardt Jr. is out for the rest of the NASCAR season due to a concussion, making the NASCAR star available to make the appearance in Bristol that would not be typical for a NASCAR driver.
The choice of Earnhardt Jr. makes a lot of sense given the uniqueness of this game being at Bristol Motor Speedway and the availability of one of NASCAR's stars to make an appearance at a game that will be a spectacle like we haven't seen before.
The big day is almost here as fans all across the country will turn their attention to Bristol for the Hokies and Volunteers showdown in front of over 150,000 fans.
