Two of Virginia Tech's starting wide receiver spots have been locks since the transfer portal closed with rising senior Ayden Greene returning to be the lead WR on the outside plus Duke transfer Que'Sean Brown bringing a P4 proven slot WR to pair with Greene.
That means there still is a third starting wide receiver spot open for someone else to claim with a wide open group of returners and transfers battling for that job. While VT does seem likely to use a lot of two tight end formations with Luke Reynolds and Benji Gosnell that may shrink this role some, VT still may look to spread it out with three WR formations at times to throw different looks at defenses, even though Reynolds and Gosnell might both be used in the slot or even on the outside at times this season.
So with that in mind, let's dive into my breakdown of Virginia Tech's WR3 battle entering the summer.
