Virginia Tech starting safety Divine Deablo has received the honor of wearing the No. 25 jersey for Week 2 against Old Dominion. Deablo was second on the team with 10 tackles last week against Boston College and has also played a lot on special teams throughout his collegiate career.
This will be the third time that Deablo has worn the No. 25 jersey. Both previous instances were against Pittsburgh, once in 2016 and once last season.
Last season, Deablo was one of the lone bright spots for the Hokies defense. He accumulated 55 tackles (including 35 solo) and 4.5 tackles for loss even as he dealt with sporadic injuries. Now 100% healthy, Deablo appears poised for a big 2019 season that could put him comfortably on the radar of NFL scouts by the end of the year.
Deablo picked up where he left off last season in the opening against Boston College on his way to earning the right to once again wear Beamer’s famous No. 25.
