Duquesne WR Transfer Abdul Janneh Sets Official Visits to Virginia Tech, UCF

While the transfer portal hasn't gone into full swing just yet with the FBS window for non-grad transfers not opening till next Monday, the portal is already fairly busy. That includes plenty of standout FCS talents like Duquesne WR Abdul Janneh who has several Power 5 offers and has set a pair of visits.

Janneh told us that he has plans to visit UCF on the weekend of December 9-11th followed by a trip to Virginia Tech on the weekend of December 16-18th. These are the only two visits that Janneh currently has scheduled though transfer recruitments can always evolve quickly.

He had this to say about what he's hoping to see on these visits.

"I just want to really to see how the staff and players are. Both schools are really interested and have felt the most genuine," Janneh said.

Janneh has built up a solid offer list based on what he's publicly shared (with it being possible he has more offers that he hasn't publicized).

  • ACC: Virginia Tech, NC State
  • Big 12: UCF
  • Pac-12: Washington State
  • AAC: Charlotte
  • MAC: Toledo
  • Mountain West: Utah State
  • Sun Belt: Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Marshall, Old Dominion

His offer list comes after he had a strong season for Duquesne with 43 receptions for 579 yards and 9 touchdowns this past season. He also has very good size at 6'3'' for a receiving corps that could use more bigger, outside receivers in addition to Kaleb Smith and Christian Moss.

Janneh has two years of eligibility so he's isn't a one-and-done type transfer which definitely adds additional upside and intrigue since he has more time to adjust and grow at a higher level.

The Hokies seem poised for an overhaul of their receiving corps with Janneh both providing lots of size on the outside and proven production even if it is at the FCS level. He also mentioned to us previously that he has some family ties to this region which should help VT's pursuit of him.

Keep an eye on Abdul Janneh as the battle for his commitment heats up.
