After winning their home opener against Marshall, Virginia Tech hits the road for Norfolk to take on an Old Dominion team that has had the Hokies' number in the previous two matchups in the 757. Unsurprisingly, the Hokies are two-touchdown favorites but this is certainly a game that they cannot take for granted.
With that said, here are my Hokies to watch against the Monarchs.
DE Antwaun Powell-Ryland
Through two weeks, the Old Dominion offense has allowed 34 individual pressures according to Pro Football Focus. For comparison, a much maligned Virginia Tech pass blocking team has allowed only 19 individual pressures through two games.
Add in the fact that the Monarchs averaged only 3.2 yards per carry against South Carolina and an even worse 2.3 yards per carry against ECU and it's clear that we are going to see the Monarchs off schedule a good amount of times in this game.
As such, this is a game where Antwaun Powell-Ryland has to be loving his opportunity to make a massive impact and have a huge performance in his homecoming to the 757.
