The 2021 class has the potential to be one of the most talented recruiting classes ever in the state of North Carolina with eight NC recruits making 247 Sports' top 100 2021 recruits including four-star CB Gabe Stephens. Recently, Stephens was on campus for Virginia Tech's game against Notre Dame and had this to say about his visit. "It was great. I liked the fan base and the atmosphere," Stephens told us. In addition, Stephens was impressed with the Hokies' entrance and the hype and noise surrounding it, telling us that "I was ready to play." James Shibest is Stephens' area recruiter with the four-star CB having the chance to have a quick conversation with him before the game's kickoff. Stephens also added that he has built a "pretty good" relationship with Shibest At this point, the Hokies haven't extended an offer, but he seems like a guy to watch to get an offer sometime in the not too distant future with Stephens hoping that VT is "very close" to offering him. In the meantime, Penn State and South Carolina have offered him and are recruiting him the hardest while Clemson is another school who could offer him soon. Looking ahead this fall, Stephens told us that he is looking into taking visits to Wisconsin, Kentucky, and Tennessee in the near future. Virginia Tech continues to show interest in 2021 four-star CB Gabe Stephens with an offer seeming likely in the near future.
