WR Henri Murphy announced on Twitter today that he has decided to transfer from Virginia Tech.

Murphy had 10 catches for 153 yards in 2017 and 13 total receptions during his two seasons in Blacksburg. He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Henri Murphy was one of the first Justin Fuente recruits to arrive in Blacksburg as a late addition to Fuente's first recruiting class after leaving JUCO a year early. After rarely playing in 2016, Murphy seemed close to a breakthrough in 2017 when he made two starts and had four-straight games with a catch including 3 catches for 43 yards against Clemson and 3 catches for 40 yards against Boston College.
However, Murphy fell down the Hokies' receiver rotation after and only had a 24-yard reception against Oklahoma State after VT's first six games of the season.
Murphy also spent some time as a kick returner in 2016 and showed plenty of potential back deep though the Hokies did not use him on kickoffs in 2017.
While it didn't work out for Murphy in Blacksburg, he has shown that he has the talent to help a Group of 5 team or even some Power 5 teams as a slot receiver and kick returner.
