Hokies CB Commit Joshua Clarke Recaps "Unbelievable" Virginia Tech Official Visit

Joshua Clarke 1 VT Official Visit June 2023

Virginia Tech's final big official visit weekend of June included some big targets plus multiple targets including three-star CB commit Joshua Clarke out of Northern Virginia.

His time in Blacksburg went well as he told us it was an "unbelievable" visit adding this on why that was the case.

"Everything. The coaching staff went out their way to make me feel like this is home. The food was amazing. The bonding with my future teammates was great. The whole weekend was amazing," Clarke said.

All of the official visits were quite busy with a whole lot of different events on the itinerary as Clarke shared with us.

"Each day was filled with activities and fun. We got in on Friday morning at about 10am, met with the entire coaching staff, had team meetings including with all the support staff, lunch, photo shoot. On Saturday, we spent the day at Claytor Lake. Dinner each night," Clarke said.

His visit included plenty of time with head coach Brent Pry along with CBs coach Derek Jones and safeties coach Pierson Prioleau. He had this to say about his time and conversations with Brent Pry.

"Conversations with Coach Pry were great. He told me how excited they were to have me be a part of the Virginia Tech family. We also talked about how I could fit in and help out the secondary," Clarke said.

He had this to say about his time and conversations with Derek Jones.

"My conversations with Coach Jones are always great. He is such a great coach and really easy to talk to and relate to. We talked about how they plan to use me in their scheme on defense," Clarke said.

He had this to say about his time and conversations with Pierson Prioleau.

"He's very excited to have me a new member of the Hokie family, and that I'm a versatile CB who could possibly play multiple positions," Clarke said.

Freshman CB Dante Lovett was Clarke's player host for this visit with those two having some great conversations and building a strong bond through the time they spent together.

"Conversation was good. We talked about how we are the beginning of something special happening in Blacksburg, and we are excited about playing together and competing," Clarke said.

Clarke also enjoyed getting to build a bond with his fellow public VT commits along with the other recruits visiting this weekend.

"Time spent with the guys was great. We definitely formed a bond this weekend," Clarke said.

One of the biggest things for Clarke with his official visit was the fact that he got to go on this official visit with his two older brothers who both played Division I College Football.

"It was also great having my two older brothers there with this weekend, both of whom played D1 football. My oldest brother Jeremiah Clarke played at UNC, and my other brother Isaih Clarke played at Albany. They have been a great help for me during this process," Clarke said.

So how did this official visit impact his view of Virginia Tech?

"It confirmed everything for me especially the academic part and the support that they offer. Also, the opportunity outside of football definitely impressed me," Clarke said.

Talented Northern Virginia CB Joshua Clarke leaves Blacksburg this weekend with further confirmation that he made the right decision choosing Virginia Tech.
