Virginia Tech Softball infielders Jayden Jones and Emily LeGette both announced today that they are entering the transfer portal.
After much consideration I have decided to enter the transfer portal with 2 years of eligibility left. I want to thank VT for the past two years along with every friendship they gave me and every lesson they taught me. Excited for this next chapter!

LeGette spent her first two years at Virginia Tech where she appeared in 58 total games, slashing .328/.379/.515 with six homers over her time in Blacksburg.
In 2025, LeGette was solid, slashing .328/.366/.567 with four homers and 15 RBI.
LeGette was the backup first baseman for the Hokies behind star Michelle Chatfield, filling in for Chatfield later this season after Chatfield had suffered an injury. With no clear path to a regular starting role, LeGette had decided to head elsewhere and will certainly have plenty of interest.
I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal. I’m thankful for everything God has taught me in this chapter at Virginia Tech and excited for what the future holds

The second Hokie to enter the portal is outfielder Jayden Jones, who appeared in 26 games over her freshman season in Blacksburg.
Jones slashed .250/.375/.500 with four homers and 12 RBI over 60 total at bats. She was a starter early in the season before injuries limited her later on.
The former top 100 recruit was projected to start at second base or in the outfield. She will leave the Hokies looking for a replacement at one of those spots in addition to the loss of a player who could have been a big part of the future for the Hokies.
