The 105th edition of the Commonwealth Cup is just about upon us with Virginia Tech looking salvage a sixth win and a bowl game from what has been a major disappointment of the season while Virginia is looking to reach a bowl game for the first time since 2021 with a win.

To help us get you ready for this game, we were joined by longtime UVA beat reporter Mike Barber, one of the best reporters in the Commonwealth of Virginia, to share his insights on the Cavaliers. I appreciate Mike for taking the time over the Thanksgiving holiday to take part in our Inside the Enemy Q&A.

So with that said, let's jump in to our Q&A with Mike Barber on Virginia.

1. Where do things stand for UVA near the end of year 3 of the Tony Elliott era?

I’m in the camp that believed Elliott was safe barring an absolutely disastrous season this year. I think the administration was leaning towards giving him 2025 either way, but getting to within a win of a bowl game certainly shows more progress than most anticipated.

For a team picked to finish next to last in the expanded ACC , and one coming off back to back three-win seasons, this year has definitely been encouraging in terms of what direction Virginia is going under Elliott.

2. How has Anthony Colandrea grown (or not grown) in his second season and what makes him prone to multi-interception games?
