The headlines around Saturday’s noon contest between the Virginia Tech Hokies and the Marshall Thundering Herd were poised to largely be about Grant Wells’ homecoming. That was until Wells suffered an injury against Purdue that kept him out against Rutgers and has him likely on track to miss this week's game.
However, Wells isn’t the only current Hokie with roots in Huntington, West Virginia. Both Tech Defensive Line coach JC Price and junior defensive end CJ McCray were members of the Thundering Herd before their current residency in Blacksburg.
