Three-Star OT Jordan McFadden Flips From Virginia Tech to Clemson

When Jordan McFadden committed to Virginia Tech over the summer, it was hard to imagine him not signing with the Hokies. However, that all changed when in-state Clemson chose to offer in August, opening the door for a healthy competition that would be very difficult for VT to win if the Tigers turned on the heat. Over the fall, Clemson has slowly turned up the heat and unsurprisingly, that has led to a change of heart for McFadden. Jordan McFadden announced tonight that he is flipping his commitment from Virginia Tech to Clemson. His decommitment leaves the Hokies with three offensive linemen and 23 players committed this cycle. McFadden's decommitment isn't a surprise at all with Clemson's in-state pull and recent success making a big difference. The Hokies put in a valiant effort to try to keep the South Carolina OT, but the challenge was too great to keep him from staying home. Looking ahead, the Hokies will look to add at least one more offensive lineman with Walker Culver and Rasheed Walker being among the most popular names. Walker has a lot of hype but from I've heard, it seems very likely that he won't end up in Blacksburg. Walker Culver is the guy to watch as the three-star OT from Tennessee recently decommitted from Colorado. The Hokies made him a priority while he was committed to the Buffaloes and his recruitment is looking very similar to Bryce Watts' last year when he flipped from Rutgers to VT after the Hokies pursued him heavily while he was committed to Rutgers. However, Hokie fans should keep an eye on Ohio State who will likely be a major player if they decide to make a big push after offering recently. Losing Jordan McFadden is disappointing, but the Hokies will have some other options while McFadden gets the chance to stay home and play for a school he grew up a fan of.
