Virginia Tech hosted a talented group of recruits at last weekend's Hokies-Duke game including 2021 four-star athlete Kamarro Edmonds. While the game didn't go well for Virginia Tech Edmonds' visit did go well.

Edmonds told us that he had a "great" visit that he "really enjoyed" which included him and his father getting to spend time with head coach Justin Fuente which went quite well.

"It was great, he is a good guy. He told me he wanted hard working guys like me in his program. He also told me how young the team was and how players can make an instant impact on the team," Edmonds said about his time with Justin Fuente.

While that time went quite well, the atmosphere in Lane Stadium was the thing that stood out the most for Edmonds along with a couple of other things.

"Definitely the atmosphere, one of the best I have seen. I could see how crazy it would have been had the game turned out better. The campus is beautiful too, and the fans are wild and fun," Edmonds said about what stood out for him.

Edmonds also added that the atmosphere and "crazy and very exciting" crowd were among the unique things about his visit.

Overall, this visit left a significant impact on his recruitment with Edmonds sharing that the Hokies are starting to informally stand out for him.

"It definitely gave me more to think about and another school to add into the mix. They are definitely standing out, and that was my first game. They told me they had one of the best intros, I believe it now," Edmonds said about how this visit impacted his recruitment and VT's standing in it.

Right now, Edmonds isn't sure what position he wants to play having the versatility to play defensive back or running back. That hasn't stopped the Hokies, South Carolina, and North Carolina from being the ones recruiting him the hardest at the moment.

Looking ahead, Edmonds added that he is looking at trying to take visits to Clemson, NC State, Wake Forest, and Coastal Carolina though high school football season can make scheduling visits difficult.

Overall, the Hokies left a strong impression on Kamarro Edmonds for his first game visit with Virginia Tech emerging as a contender in his recruitment.
