Over the summer, Landers Nolley became one of Buzz Williams's top targets in the Class of 2018. Nolley visited the Hokies one week before his initial decision, and that visit went well. Days later, Nolley cut his list down to the Hokies and Georgia.
Nolley visited UGA on the day before his decision, and then committed to the Bulldogs in a surprising turn of events. However, that didn't last long as Nolley decommitted from Georgia within 24 hours.
Today, Nolley ended his recruitment after plenty of twists and turns.

Four-star SF Landers Nolley announced that he has committed to Virginia Tech. Nolley is Virginia Tech's second basketball commit in the class of 2018 joining Jarren McAllister.
Landers Nolley has a strong offer list that included Virginia Tech, Georgia, Oklahoma State, Illinois, Arkansas, Florida State, Vanderbilt, VCU, Wichita State, Alabama, Clemson, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Penn State, and more.
Nolley is well-regarded nationally as Rivals has him 55th nationally, ESPN has him 90th, 247 Sports has him 119th, and the 247 Sports Composite has him 96th. Nolley is ranked as a top 30 small forward by all three, and has been a fast riser who saw his recruitment explode over the summer.
This is a big pickup for the Hokies as Nolley has become a priority for the Hokies recently. Buzz Williams has had lots of success gaining commitments after having them visit on football weekends. Of course, Nolley's commitment did come after some unexpected twists and turns, but this is still a great addition.
Nolley gives the Hokies a wing in a class where the Hokies were lacking a big wing to replace Justin Bibbs. Virginia Tech has plenty of talent on the wings, but Nolley should be able to fight for some playing time as a true freshman. Nolley has great size at 6'7'' and could be used similarly to Chris Clarke as a bigger wing with the height to guard big men in some smaller lineups.
Congrats to Landers Nolley on his commitment to Virginia Tech.
