Leah Joseph Leaves Virginia Tech for Jacksonville Jaguars

Virginia Tech Director of On-Campus Recruiting Leah Joseph is leaving Blacksburg to take a job with the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars as first reported by Michael Niziolek of the Roanoke Times.

Joseph was just promoted into her position with the football program this offseason after being the Volleyball program's Director of Operations since her arrival in Blacksburg in 2017. Joseph becomes the second recruiting staffer to leave this offseason after Beau Davidson who had been with the football program since 2017 including the Director of Recruiting just for a few months before leaving for Texas Tech.

Joseph, like Davidson, had played a valuable role in the recruiting visit planning for the June rush after the COVID dead period which led to Tech having a strong summer on the recruiting trail with multiple recruiting sites ranking Tech's 2022 class in the top 20 nationally.

It's easy to understand why Joseph would jump at an NFL opportunity, but the timing is still less than ideal for Virginia Tech who are now down two of their top recruiting staffers with fall visits set to get under way starting next Friday for the VT-UNC game.

While there's no doubt that Tech will look to find replacements for Joseph and Davidson, it'll be hard for Tech to find replacements during this time though the late timing of these moves show that it is possible if it's the right opportunity and situation.
