Virginia Tech picked up a transfer commit from former Marshall punter Nathan Totten.

The redshirt sophomore has both punting and placekicking experience. In 2024, Totten appeared in nine games primarily as a placekicker, going 4-for-6 on field goals, and as a kickoff specialist, notching 28 touchbacks in his 40 attempts. In 2025, he was the Thundering Herd's primary punter, sending 19 punts for 50+ yards, his longest totaling 63 yards.

Last year, Nathan Totten was named to the second team All-Sun Belt and earned a spot on the Ray Guy Award watchlist.

Totten joins redshirt freshman punter Cole Byrd in the specialists room, with brothers John and Will Love serving as the Hokies' place kickers.
