According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Virginia Tech has landed a commitment from Missouri DE transfer Javion Hilson

Hilson is the sixth transfer commitment for the Hokies and the fourth who redshirted this past season and has four years of eligibility remaining along with Penn State DL Daniel Jennings, Penn State TE Matt Henderson, and Michigan State OT Justin Bell.

The 6’4’, 246-pound defensive end from Cocoa, FL had one tackle in three games this past season. He was a four-star recruit in the 2025 class ranked in the top 100 overall recruits by all the major recruiting services last cycle.

Hilson is a big-time prospect who certainly should be able to come in and push for a spot in Virginia Tech’s defensive end rotation if he lives up to his past recruiting ratings. There’s a strong belief that a quiet redshirt season for Hilson doesn’t change the reality of the big-time EDGE prospect that he is with On3 giving him a four-star transfer grade and ranking him 14th among transfer EDGEs as of 12:30am on January 6th.

We will have more as this story develops.
