Virginia Tech's big official visit weekend has brought results for the Hokies with talented three-star DE Robert Wooten becoming the third player to publicly commit to Tech over the past 3 days.

Wooten chose the Hokies over SMU, the other school in his top 2, along with Missouri, Arizona, Texas Tech, Utah, Wisconsin, and a host of other Power 5 offers. Wooten also joins Derrell Bailey Jr and Justin Beadles as defensive line commits for Virginia Tech in the 2020 class.
Wooten had this to say about why he chose the Hokies.
"It’s a culture shock. It’s different than what I'm used to big city to small college town, but it makes me feel like I’ll lock in and focus on what’s in front of me," Wooten said.
Landing Dematrius Davis was a big moment for the #TX2VT movement, but landing Wooten is even bigger especially with Wooten being poised to sign with the Hokies tomorrow. Tech will now have Texas players on roster, something that should help open the door to the Lone Star State even more not only as the 2020 cycle wraps up but also in 2021 and beyond.
We will have more as this story develops.
