Temple WR Transfer Jadan Blue Commits to Virginia Tech

After landing a pair of quarterbacks yesterday in Grant Wells and Jason Brown, Brent Pry's Extreme Makeover: Virginia Tech Offense edition continued tonight as the Hokies landed a transfer commitment from standout Temple WR Jadan Blue.

Blue has a successful career at Temple headlined by a standout 2019 season with 95 receptions for 1,067 yards and 4 touchdowns. Blue has had 71 receptions over his past 14 games over the past two seasons with Temple's offense coming to a crashing halt in recent years despite the talent of Blue.

He will have one year of eligibility remaining and gives Tech a veteran playmaker at WR after the departures of Tre Turner and Tayvion Robinson.

Blue is considered one of the top transfer WRs in the country with 247 Sports ranking him as the 40th best transfer overall including the seventh best transfer WR at the moment with that subject to change as more players enter the portal.

As mentioned above, the departures of Turner and Robinson left the Hokies with needs at wide receiver, and Blue fills that immediately working out of the slot. Blue's arrival gives Tech a very good 1-2 slot pairing with Blue and Da'Wain Lofton with Lofton being able to continue to develop alongside a talented, proven veteran. Blue also is a guy who can be a lead receiver alongside Lofton, Kaleb Smith, Jaylen Jones, and others.

Though Blue is on board, Virginia Tech has been casting the type of WR net that makes it easy to believe that the Hokies will look to add 1-2 more receivers with JMU star Antwane Wells Jr, Wyoming WR Isaiah Neyor, and Hawaii WR Nick Mardner among some of the names to watch who have been offered.

We will have more as this story develops.
