The talking is just about over and football season is truly upon us. Week one has arrived for a Virginia Tech Football team with as much buzz as any Hokies' team in at least a decade if not longer.
Of course, there's also a major anniversary this year as it's the 25th anniversary of the 1999 Virginia Tech Football team that did what no Hokies' athletic team had done before and reach the national championship. The legacy of the 1999 Hokies' Football team continues to live on with Virginia Tech engrained in the rich historic tapestry of college football forever.
What 1999 sparked since then is a desire to dream that one day, a national championship could indeed come to Blacksburg, something that 30 years ago seemed impossible. While doubts have arisen over the years, this year's team has given a spark of hope that Virginia Tech's best days aren't behind it on the football field but remain ahead of the Hokies. That includes this fall with the Hokies having national buzz from everywhere, and being picked to win the ACC and reach the playoffs by many including ESPN's Pat McAfee and renowned college football insider Brett McMurphy.
So as we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the 1999 Virginia Tech Football that reached the national championship game and look ahead at the precipice of the next great era of Hokie Football, we dream about the Blacksburg Nights that have already come by and the greater ones still to come.
With that, we at The Tech Lunch Pail are proud to present to the Blacksburg Nights which was produced by Vatecheditz, who you can follow on X (formerly Twitter) @Vatech_editz. We also want to thank MC4D who allowed us to use their remix of Zach Bryan's American Nights for this hype video.
So Hokies, dream on about those Blacksburg Nights.
