News broke overnight Saturday into Sunday morning that James Franklin and Virginia Tech were targeting VT's former head coach Brent Pry as its next defensive coordinator. The move of a fired head coach returning immediately to be an assistant has no precedent in college football and while Pry is a highly-regarded defensive mind, the quick return does bring some risk given the way Tech played in his final games before being fired.
So with that said, here are three of my initial thoughts on the reports of Brent Pry being rehired by Virginia Tech, this time as defensive coordinator.
