History will be made on Saturday, October 5th, when the Virginia Tech Hokies (2-3) (0-1) take on the Stanford Cardinal (2-2) (1-1). For the first time in ACC history, a conference matchup will be played on the West Coast.
Both programs are coming off losses to top-25 schools, with Tech falling short in a heartbreaking 38-34 loss to No. 7 Miami at Hard Rock Stadium and Stanford getting handled 40-15 by No. 15 Clemson, handing both programs their first ACC losses on the season. The Hokies showed promise against the Hurricanes in Week 5. If they play how they did in Miami, with all cylinders firing, the maroon and orange can capture their first conference victory of the season.
With that said, here are the Hokies' three keys to the game against Stanford.
