Three-star DB Zaevion Cleveland out of the 757 reaffirmed his commitment to Virginia Tech today via Instragram.
The Virginia Beach native committed to Virginia Tech back in June. Cleveland did have other offers from Syracuse, Virginia, West Virginia, and others. He was on flip watch with West Virginia, as he just came off of an official visit to Morgantown a few days ago. While WVU made a good push, Zaevion Cleveland will be staying in Blacksburg with the James Franklin-led Hokies.
Zaevion Cleveland has a great frame as a 6-foot-4 defensive backs and is listed around 190 lbs. He also is one of the top defensive backs in the Commonwealth of Virginia as Virginia Tech looks to improve their recruiting trail in the home state.
Franklin made it clear during his press conference that he’s working hard at recruiting current Virginia Tech commits through the coaching change. So far, Franklin has only seen one previous VT commit decide to decommit in three-star QB Cole Bergeron. While three-star IOL Adrian Hamilton is on flip watch to Michigan, the rest of Tech's previous commits remain while VT also gained a recommitment from four-star OT Thomas Wilder, a teammate of Cleveland's who had decommitted from the Hokies after the dismissal of Brent Pry.
With Early National Signing Day just days away on December 3rd, Franklin and staff will be looking to bring in some more recruits in the following days while also looking to have the prior Tech commits buy into the new staff and stay committed.
