Virginia Tech’s Green Run HS pipeline grew today as the Hokies landed a commitment from three-star DE Kamden Johnson out of the 757 powerhouse.
Johnson is the Hokies’ third commit in the 2026 class alongside three-star LB Joshua Pittman and three-star K Will Love. He is also the second 757 commit this cycle alongside Pittman.
Johnson chose the Hokies over Pittsburgh, Virginia, Michigan State, Duke, and others.
Johnson gives the Hokies their third-straight recruiting class and fourth in the past five with at least one recruit from Green Run HS after the Hokies signed DL Lemar Law in the 2022 class, WR Keylen Adams in the 2024 class, and CB Knahlij Harrell, WR Jayden Anderson, and DE Zeke Chinwike in the 2025 class.
This is a solid recruiting victory for the Hokies landing an intriguing prospect from an important recruiting area over some significant regional competition. It also continues to grow the Green Run pipeline in a cycle where VT is also pursuing four-star OT Thomas Wilder and three-star DB Shawn Church Jr out of the same school.
