The 2025 class is rolling now for Mike Young and the Virginia Tech Hokies after landing a commitment from three-star F Sin’Cere Jones out of Portsmouth, VA.
Va Tech has received the commitment of 2025 Churchland HS & @BooWilliamsAAU F Sin'Cere Jones. The 6'8" is a toolsy forward who can guard multiple positions, has a knack for being around the ball at all times & impacts winning at a high level.

The 6’7’’ Jones chose the Hokies over offers from Mississippi State, VCU, Old Dominion, and others. The 6’7’’ forward is the first commit actively playing his high school basketball in the 757 to choose the Hokies out of high school since Chris Clarke.
His commitment comes after he took an official visit to Virginia Tech this past weekend that clearly went quite well to lead to a commitment. While in-state recruiting doesn’t matter much in college basketball, this is a nice boost on that front for Tech.
Jones may not have that many big offers, but he was clearly high on Tech’s board similar to Jaydon Young last cycle, with Young proving to be a good fit and solid rotational guy late in ACC play as a freshman. Jones is an intriguing forward who may be more of a four for Tech who could work at times as a three in bigger lineups.
