Virginia Tech made an unexpected splash on the recruiting trail today landing a commitment from three-star OL Johnny Dickson out of Texas.

Dickson chose the Hokies over offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Nebraska, Houston, Memphis, SMU, and UTSA. He is the Hokies' second 2022 commit from the state of Texas along with three-star QB Alex Orji and second offensive line commit overall along with three-star OL Braelin Moore.
Dickson is rated by 247 Sports as an offensive guard and likely projects on the interior offensive line at the next level. With that said, it would be surprising if Tech sought to add another interior offensive linemen this cycle and will likely shift their offensive line focus to tackle.
We will have more as this story develops.
