Virginia Tech hosted several major 2023 targets over the weekend including three-star LB Tavorian Copeland out of Appomattox, VA who had this to say about how his VT official visit went.
"It’s was an amazing experience, I’m so happy I had the opportunity to go!" Copeland said.
Copeland added this on why it was an "amazing experience" for him.
"Being apart of the Virginia Tech family! Meeting the players really helped me understand what VT really meant!" Copeland said.
He added this on what he did during his official visit beyond the usual time with coaches.
"We ate tons of food, went bowling, had photoshoots, and hung out with the team," Copeland said.
Through all of that, Copeland said that what stood out to him was "how genuine everyone was" with Copeland getting to spend an "ample amount" of time with all of Tech's coaches. That included time with head coach Brent Pry that was "awesome" and adding that "he is such a character".
He also added this on his time with defensive coordinator/LBs coach Chris Marve who could be his collegiate coach should he choose the Hokies.
"It was great. He is an amazing human being! I never experienced anyone that was so down to earth like Coach Marve!" Copeland said.
Copeland currently has several offers in addition to Tech including UVA and multiple Ivy League though he did tell us that he currently doesn't have any other official visits scheduled "yet" with that yet seeming to leave the door open for more officials being scheduled.
So how did this visit impact his recruitment and where the Hokies stand in it?
"This visit really helped me understand what Tech was about! After this visit, I’ve found a new love for Tech!" Copeland said.
Virginia Tech has made a strong impression on talented in-state LB Tavorian Copeland with the Hokies appearing to be in a very strong position for him.
