Virginia Tech picked up a major in-state commitment Monday evening as three-star OT Carter Stallard became the Hokies' second 2025 commit.

Stallard joins three-star QB Kelden Ryan in Virginia Tech's 2025 class. He committed to the Hokies over other offers from Louisville, West Virginia, Maryland, Duke, Virginia, and others.
Stallard was a top offensive tackle target for the Hokies in the 2025 class and has been on campus several times given his close proximity to Blacksburg including this past weekend.
This is a big time recruiting victory for OL coach Ron Crook and the Hokies given the serious competition that Tech had. Anytime that you have a talented recruit this close to Blacksburg, the Hokies have to get the job done on the recruiting trail and they did just that in landing the Christiansburg standout.
Stallard is a fascinating prospect who has great size for an offensive tackle at 6'7.5'' and 315 pounds according to 247 Sports. That's the type of size that any coach dreams of having with an offensive tackle.
Stallard likely won't be the only offensive tackle for the Hokies with another true tackle seeming like a strong possibility. Some of the names to monitor on that front for the Hokies include four-star OT Alex Payne, three-star OT Eidan Buchanan, and in-state three-star OT Nathanial Wright who visited the Hokies this past weekend.
