Virginia Tech's strong recent recruiting stretch continued Thursday as the Hokies landed a commitment from three-star RB Kelvin Morrison out of Hermitage, PA.

The 5'11'', 175-pound running back chose VT over other offers from Miami (where he had a June official visit scheduled to), Ohio State, Indiana, Penn State, Tennessee, Florida, Wisconsin, Michigan State, West Virginia, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, Virginia, Maryland, Pittsburgh, and more.
Morrison is the fifth commit for the Hokies this class and the first commitment from a non-defensive lineman. He is also the first commit from the state of Pennsylvania this class.
Morrison's high school production is quite strong as he's ran for 1,400+ yards, 19+ touchdowns, and 9+ yards per carry each of the past two seasons with a high school career average of 9.0 yards per carry. Add in the strong offer list that Morrison has and there's plenty to be intrigued about by his talent.
With Morrison on board, VT may still look to add one more running back with four-star RB Quinterrius Gipson and three-star RB Tai Phillips being two names to monitor. Both Gipson and Phillips have official visits scheduled to Virginia Tech.
