Three-Star WR Ty Perkins Recaps "Great" Virginia Tech Spring Game Visit

VT Fans 1

Virginia Tech hosted lots of talented recruits at this year's Spring Game including three-star WR Ty Perkins whose visit went quite well as he told us.

"It was great, the game was very excited and the crowd is always electric," Perkins said.

So what did Perkins do while on his visit?

"We had lunch in the indoor field. The coaches came and talked to everyone while we were eating and after that, Coach (Brent) Pry gave a speech and a few NFL guys also gave a speech. Then we walked through the tunnel and stood on the field pregame," Perkins said.

Perkins added this on who he got hear from on the NFL player front and what that meant to him.

"Kyle Fuller is the only player I can think of off the top of my head. Hearing from them meant a lot because they all said how great the place is and what it means for them to be able to call that place home," Perkins said.

He also got to spend some times with multiple Tech assistants including WRs coach Fontel Mines and his primary recruiter Joe Rudolph with Perkins having this to say about his time with Rudolph.

"It was great. He introduced himself to my parents and he kept going on about how I was a great kid," Perkins said.

So why was this a "great" visit for Perkins to Virginia Tech?

"Being able to see it with my family was important to me. We loved watching the spring game, and seeing the crowd in person for the first time was awesome," Perkins said.

So how did this visit impact his recruitment, where Virginia Tech stands in his recruitment, and why?

"VT stands towards the top of my recruitment," Perkins said. "Them being my only Power 5 offer stands out. Also really loved my visits in Blacksburg!"

Virginia Tech continues to impress Ty Perkins with the Hokies in many ways looking like the frontrunner even if Perkins isn't ready to name a leader or frontrunner at the moment.
