After a breakout 2016 season, Tremaine Edmunds has continued to play at a high level in 2017. Edmunds has met expectations as one of the best linebackers in the ACC and all of college football.

Tremaine Edmunds was one of 15 linebackers that were named semifinalists for the Butkus Award. Edmunds was one of three ACC players named a semifinalist along with Clemson's Dorian O'Daniel and UVA's Micah Kiser. The Butkus Award is given to the best linebacker in college football.
Edmunds leads Virginia Tech with 68 tackles in addition to having 6.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, 2 QB hurries, and 2 forced fumbles. Edmunds has been consistently stopping opponents around the line of scrimmage and could easily have a double-digit total of tackles for loss.
Tremaine Edmunds is well on his way to being an All-ACC First Teamer. A strong finish to the season could also give him a shot at being a finalist for the Butkus Award and an All-American.
