Four-star CB Jaeden Gould has emerged as one of the most talented defensive recruits in the 2022 with an impressive group of schools showing lots of interest including from Virginia Tech as Gould told us.
"A lot, they said that they are going to recruit me hard and that I am one of their priority targets," Gould said on how much interest VT is showing in him.
Gould also has lots of interest in the Hokies with Tech in very good shape very early in his recruitment.
Jaeden Gould told us that the Hokies are among four schools currently standing out in his recruitment along with Notre Dame, Penn State, and Florida. He had this to say on why the Hokies are currently standing out.
"I like the winning culture up there and the way they are recruiting," Gould said.
Unsurprisingly, Gould has had several coaches from major programs stop by at his high school to see him including VT's new defensive line coach Bill Teerlinck. The conversation between Teerlinck and Gould went quite well as Gould shared with us.
"It was good. He told me that I was one of their priorities when it came to the defensive side of the ball," Gould said.
Tech's interest has remained steadfast even after Gould was unable to play this past season due to injury. That shows how highly Tech projects the 6'2'' Gould as a potential star cornerback given his skill set.
He had this to say about the strengths of his game that clearly have helped him become one of 2022's elite defensive recruits.
"Definitely strengths are my size and physicality, I’m not afraid to come up and hit, and I play the ball well in the air," Gould said.
Those are the type of traits that not only fit well for playing cornerback the way the game of football is played now, but his embracing of being physical fits Virginia Tech's lunch pail defense mantra.
Looking ahead, Jaeden Gould doesn't have a set visit schedule yet, but he does know of one school that he wants to visit.
"I don’t have any visits scheduled so far but I definitely want to get down to VT soon," Gould said.
Virginia Tech is off to an extremely good start in the recruitment of elite 2022 CB Jaeden Gould, but the Hokies have plenty of work ahead to turn Gould's early interest into a headline commitment for their 2022 class.
