2023 three-star OT Ayden Bussell is still early in his recruitment, but he already has a few schools standing out for him.
"So far Tennessee, Vandy, Kentucky, and VT are up there," Bussell said.
He had this to say about why the Hokies are among the programs currently standing out for him.
"Ever since the dead period opened up, they have been showing a lot of love and I’ve been building a good relationship with the coaches over there," Bussell said.
Bussell told us that Virginia Tech has had regular contact with him about every "2-3 days." Leading the charge has been offensive line coach Vance Vice who Bussell told us he has a "new and still growing but good" relationship with since the Hokies upped their recruitment of him post dead period.
That relationship will have another chance to grow next week when Bussell makes his first visit to Blacksburg for Virginia Tech's game against Notre Dame. This comes as Bussell has already taken visits to Kentucky and Vanderbilt with plans to also visit Tennessee, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Mississippi State, and Auburn after that.
Bussell had this to say about what he is looking to see on his first visit to Blacksburg.
"See the energy and also to see how the offense looks and how they move the ball. Also looking to see how the coaches coach," Bussell said.
Bussell is very much a regional recruit at the moment but the Mount Juliet, TN standout is clearly a rising name to watch especially with Mississippi State among those showing interest in Bussell outside the Appalachian/Ohio River region.
Keep an eye on Ayden Bussell as he appears to be a rising name early on Virginia Tech's 2023 offensive line board.
