Virginia Tech's class may be close to full, but the Hokies still have a few spots with offensive tackle being one of the Hokies' top priorities. One of those top tackle targets is three-star Christopher Adams from Hagerstown, Maryland who is down to 6 finalists and has set a decision date.
Officially committing on my birthday just want to give a thanks to everyone who supported me through this process and to every coach that gave me a opportunity to play football at their school. @CoachShanahan_ @VanceVice @RickyRahne @coachbenalbert @Coach_J_Rod @CoachRenoFerri pic.twitter.com/9Z9ziX7mmS

Adams will make his commitment on October 9th and choose between Virginia Tech, Duke, Syracuse, Old Dominion, FIU, and James Madison. He had this to say about why the Hokies make his top 6.
"Because they are a school that believes that I can mentally and physically be a player at their school," Adams said.
Adams added that his relationships and trust with coaches are reasons why those six schools earned spots as finalists in his recruitment. Those are also the six schools that are currently recruiting him the hardest.
Offensive line coach Vance Vice is unsurprisingly leading the charge in his recruitment with Adams having built a strong relationship with him as he described to us.
"A respect your grind and hustle type of relationship and making something proud of myself," Adams said.
Overall, Tech is in contact with Adams "2 to 3 times a week" in what is another sign of how Christopher Adams is one of the Hokies' top offensive tackle targets.
Looking ahead to his October decision, Adams does have a good idea on what the key factors will be in his decision with an emphasis on the academic portion of his decision.
"Schooling, I want to be the best student athlete. I want to know how I will be taught and know about the learning environment," Adams said.
As of this moment, Virginia Tech does look like the frontrunner to land Christopher Adams with him previously telling us in July that the Hokies are the leader in his recruitment.
As Christopher Adams nears his decision, Virginia Tech is in a strong position to land the talented Hagerstown, MD offensive tackle.
