Virginia Tech Among Those Standing Out For Four-Star TE Jordan Dingle

Jordan Dingle February 2020

If you haven't heard, four-star TE Jordan Dingle is one of Virginia Tech's top offensive targets in the 2021 class. The good news for the Hokies is that Dingle continues to have lots of interest in the Hokies himself along with several other schools that are currently standing out for him as he told us.

"I would say Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, Purdue, Ohio State, South Carolina, Northwestern, Kentucky, and Louisville," Dingle said on which schools currently stand out for him.

Dingle had this to say about why the Hokies are currently standing out in his recruitment.

"I love the coaching staff, and the environment them and the players have there. Also, because of how they’ve been recruiting me," Dingle said.

A big reason for that is due to how the Hokies are among the schools recruiting Dingle the hardest along with Ohio State, Louisville, Northwestern, Purdue, and Vanderbilt.

When visits do resume, Jordan Dingle told us that Virginia Tech is one of several schools that he is hoping to take a visit to. Some of the other schools on that list include Ohio State, Louisville, Georgia Tech, Purdue, Arkansas, Boston College, and Vanderbilt.

Virginia Tech has hosted Dingle multiple times on campus already including hosting Dingle for their biggest Junior Day of the winter portion of this year's recruiting calendar. That visit made a big impact with Dingle telling us that the Hokies were "high on my list" after his trip to Blacksburg.

Another good sign that the Hokies are in a very good position in his recruitment is because of the fact that TEs coach James Shibest is one of the coaches whom Dingle feels he has the best relationship with among all schools involved in his recruitment along with Louisville TEs coach Stu Holt. Dingle added that he and Shibest have a "strong" relationship with Tech as a whole being in contact with him "about 4 times a week."

Looking ahead, Jordan Dingle told us that he plans to trim down his list "soon" while looking to make a decision sometime this summer. Additionally, Dingle told us that Virginia Tech is among the schools that will make the cut when he trims down his list.

In the meantime, the Hokies have had a clear message for Jordan Dingle; a message that shows how Tech's staff is prioritizing Dingle but also cares for him and his family beyond the context of football.

"They’ve been making sure I know that they really want me and that they love my family and I."
