Virginia Tech Among Three Standing Out the Most for Four-Star LB Bodie Kahoun

Bodie Kahoun VT Visit Jan 2023

Four-star LB Bodie Kahoun may be one of the more fascinating in-state football recruits in the 2024 class in part because he's currently committed to Ohio State for lacrosse.

While he still considers whether he'll play football or lacrosse in college, Kahoun does have a trio of football offers emerging at the forefront of his recruitment.

Virginia Tech is among the three football offers that "have been standing out the most" for him along with Notre Dame and Tennessee. He had this to say about why the Hokies are currently standing out for him.

"It’s all a process. Academic offerings and the support for a student-athlete. It’s a personal fit for me and my family in the things we are looking for at next level. The coaching staff is doing a good job of talking to my opportunity and impact there on field. And with all the above it is 45 mins down the road," Kahoun said.

Leading the charge for the Hokies has been defensive coordinator/LBs coach Chris Marve who has built a strong relationship with Kahoun as the Patrick Henry HS (Roanoke, VA) standout told us.

"Coach Marve has been super super nice and easy to talk to. He has been a great teacher, and I have learned many things from him. He is very smart with the game and knows what he is talking about," Kahoun said.

Kahoun's meteoric rise as a football recruit comes after he just made his debut on the football field at linebacker this past season. A broken wrist limited him to 6 games this past season including only 5 at linebacker but despite the limited action, Kahoun showed loads of potential with 49 solo tackles, 32 assisted tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, and 1 pass breakup.

So what are the strengths and weaknesses of his promising game from his perspective?

"I would say my strengths are my athleticism and my knowledge on the field. My weaknesses would be just starting off at linebacker and only having 5 games at the linebacker position this year," Kahoun said.

As mentioned above, Kahoun is currently committed to Ohio State for lacrosse but the Buckeyes' football program is also showing interest in him as he told us.

"I have gotten on a call, and texted back and forth with some coaches. They said they want me to come to a camp this summer," Kahoun said.

Virginia Tech is right at the forefront of the football recruitment of four-star LB Bodie Kahoun, but the Hokies not only has some tough football competition but also a serious lacrosse challenger in Ohio State.
