Virginia Tech cornerback Caleb Brown plans to enter the transfer portal, per multiple reports.

The Hawai'i transfer played in three games with two starts for the Hokies before suffering a season-ending injury. In his short time on the field, he had two tackles and a pass breakup as a Hokie. It is anticipated that Brown will be able to receive a medical redshirt and have one year of eligibility remaining.

Prior to his time at Virginia Tech, he spent two years at Butler Community College, then transferred to Hawai’i, where in 23 games he recorded 41 tackles, and four of them were for a loss. He had 14 pass breakups, with a career high of seven coming against Oregon in 2023; that was his lone start of the season.

Brown's departure leaves VT with a cornerback group headlined by redshirt senior Isaiah Brown-Murray, redshirt junior Thomas Williams, and sophomore Jojo Crim.
